The Exhibition The exhibition on the Audi Urban Future Initiative will make an important contribution to the Festival Of Ideas For The New City. The Initiative gives center stage to four perspectives for a sustainable city of the future. These perspectives are based on the results of the Audi Urban Future Award 2010, in which five renowned international architectural practices took part: Alison Brooks Architects, BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, Cloud 9, J. Mayer H. and standardarchitecture. |
Contents of the Exhibition The results of the Audi Urban Future Award 2010 were first presented during the 12th Architecture Biennale 2010 in Venice in the Scuola Grande della Misericordia within an architectural exhibition space designed by Raumlaborberlin, a collective of architects and artists. An international jury chose Jürgen Mayer H. as the prize winner from among the participating architectural practices and their exhibited results. From 7 to 9 May the four principal theses can be seen in New York, summarized in the form of an exhibition. |

In cooperation with Architizer the teams will transfer the visions of the Award participants to Manhattan as a modeling exercise. In this way visions for the future can be experienced on an outsize model of New York.

The Audi Urban Future Initiative on its partnership with the New Museum "For the official launch of the Audi Urban Future Initiative we could hardly find a more suitable occasion than the Festival of Ideas for a New City, which we are supporting as lead sponsor. The rapid worldwide growth of cities creates complex social challenges. In order to take the right decisions today for a high quality of urban life in the future, we need new ways of thinking.
